Timberline Lodge

The lodge was constructed between 1936 and 1938 as a WPA (Works Progress Administration) project during the Great Depression. Skilled craftsmen and women trained unskilled workers to build and furnish the interior.   

We toured the lodge with Sally and Jerry Jacobson, Dave and Ellen Rich, Steve and Mabel Moist, Ernestine Moist and Steve's sister Rhonda and  relatives from Michigan and Nebraska.

MCAS Air Show

Don Fogle & Bob attended the air show today, Saturday, March 17th. After being told no room in the handicapped section they were directed to a remote area and waited an hour for the shuttle.  While waiting and due to make it on the next shuttle, they were told their line was was going to be closed down.  No shuttle for you!  Go join another line.  They trekked across the marine base to view the performances of World War II-era Vintage Warbirds to modern day aircraft.  Great show and worth the wait and walk.

We learned a new technique for quilting.  Four tabletoppers and one table runner were on today's agenda.  We had lots of fun learning tips to improve our sewing methods.  Looking forward to show and tell at "Sew What's" in May.

We had a wonderful bar-b-q buffet dinner for our last night together.  Lots of cheers and tears before parting and heading to many different destinations on our way home.
